David Allen Wizardgold uses the name Spondicious for the photography related parts of his output. He does street photography, landscape photos and loves HDR. He looks to make a great image and is willing to process the hell out of the gathered light in the camera to get what he wants. David Allen Wizardgold also loves his Macs and iOS devices and lately Android devices too. With the NEX6 you can do a wifi hook up to see that the camera is seeing and control the image taking.

The iOS update to 8.1 on the phone seems to work very well and I also have Yosemite on my main computer now so that’s good too. I do wish I had faster Internet though because it took a very long time for the downloads to get in here.

I am a glutton for punishment - I have just seen that iOS 8.1 is available now and I will do that upgrade today also. Start with the iPad and then do the iPhone.

I merged two of my photos together in Pixelmator and I got creative using Topaz Impression and Intensify Pro. It all started with a trip to a rally museum in Estonia in a lovely town called Haapsalu.http://click-to-read-mo.re/p/aa1q/5306cc73

I held off for a couple of days before I upgraded to OSX Yosemite because I was worried that DragonDictate was not going to work in the new operating system. After hearing a couple of reports to say that it was working okay I decided to give it a try. Here is an article that I wrote about setting up OSX Yosemite and also using DragonDictate.http://click-to-read-mo.re/p/a9Ym/5306cc73

I am very pleased to say that they have great to Yosemite has worked very well and Dragon dictate is still working. We are in business here still! Of course I’m using DragonDictate to enter the text into this posting for Google plus.

It is taking a while for the iCloud Drive to set up on my iPhone 6 although the job has already been done on my iPad. Now I have to find out how I can use that.

There are still things happening in the background on my iMac and I can notice a little bit of slowing down in places.

I do like to have things that are new and shiny! ;-)

I have started this morning by doing some writing down of ideas for my book for #nanowrimo   . So far I have just had these ideas swirling around inside my head and not really going anywhere in terms of getting the book together. Getting these words onto the screen inside #Scrivener   is making it’s a little bit more real and the long way towards getting myself sorted out for the #NaNoWriMo.

So far I have seen two reports that DragonDictate works on OSX Yosemite so I’m going to bite the bullet and give it a try.  I was just checking on the forum for DragonDictate and there are some of their using the latest version of it with our new OS X operating system.

I tried to make  a bootable install disk for OS X Yosemite as per an article  I saw on ArsTechnica suggesting the application called DiskMaker X and it didn’t work. Fortunately, the same article also and recommendations have the same job could be done using Terminal. That worked perfectly first time around.

I am still undecided about whether I should update OS X on account of the fact that I need to have Dragon dictate working for me. I have received a couple of reports to say that it is working, one from +Bakari Chavanu  and I have also looked on Roaring Apps.  This is despite asking Nuance directly and they said it might be best to wait. So maybe a couple more confirmations might be a good idea before I update.

I could put using the new operating system onto a spare SSD drive. There could be a problem with that scenario due to there being some applications that are Yosemite OS X only . If I had to go back to Mavericks I would have to make sure that I don’t upgrade those applications after the operating system upgrade.

One of the best bits of news from the Apple event yesterday was the demonstration from the makers of Pixelmator. Pixelmator is such a good application to use on the Mac and I am delighted to see it coming to iOS. As soon as it becomes available then I will certainly be buying it. It is an application on the Mac that is very much a Mac application in the way that it works and with its design. Not like those Adobe products that look like they have just been dragged across from Windows. I went to the Pixelmator website and I entered in my email address for the list to get information as soon as it is officially available.http://click-to-read-mo.re/p/a6dE/5306cc73

It is official - I will not be updating to Yosemite on my iMac for a little while as I sent a request directly to DragonDictate to ask if I would be okay using it with Yosemite. They replied quickly to let me know that they cannot assure me that DragonDictate 4 will work perfectly in Yosemite.

They said - “I can only advise you to wait a little longer to update to Yosemite as we will create also an update for your DragonDictate 4 to make it fully compatible with this specific operating system.”

I suppose they have to wait until the final version is out before they can really do it although there are some developers that have managed to work with the developer beta versions of the operating system so that they can be ready on day one of Yosemite.

So I will have to be patient for a little while longer. I may have a proper look at the new Yosemite OS X operating system by installing it on my wife’s MacBook. I have been doing the necessary backups today and I did my own machine as well is doing my wife’s MacBook computer.
