David Allen Wizardgold uses the name Spondicious for the photography related parts of his output. He does street photography, landscape photos and loves HDR. He looks to make a great image and is willing to process the hell out of the gathered light in the camera to get what he wants. David Allen Wizardgold also loves his Macs and iOS devices and lately Android devices too. With the NEX6 you can do a wifi hook up to see that the camera is seeing and control the image taking.

I ordered a couple of covers for the iPhone 6 the day after I ordered the phone and one of them has arrived today. Well done amazon, The phone has yet to be sent from the factory. So I still have to wait a bit before I can start tracking it on its world tour to get here in Catalonia from China. I almost wish I had gone and stood in a queue. I hate queuing for anything!

Looking forward to getting my hands on my new iPhone 6. I saw a video yesterday where two young whippersnappers went into an Apple Store to bend the phone. It demonstrated just how much pressure you have to put on to bend the thing. I am pleased to say that I am not stupid enough to put it in a back pocket and sit on it. So I expect my iPhone 6 to last a good long time and even longer than my just as bendable, or more so, Samsung Galaxy S3 that I will be selling.  There are lots of nice improvements to the IOS 8 that I am looking forward to having on my new phone. I have been trying some of these out already on my iPad and I am certainly impressed. It will get better still when  Yosemite comes out  and joins the party.  I have been testing out the extensibility features in iOS using the filters from an application called Paper Camera while I have still been using the Photos application. The thing to say to those people that have been putting the phone in a back pocket and sitting on it is……  Try going on a diet first you fatty…..  ;-))http://click-to-read-mo.re/p/9H86/5306cc73

after using android devices for just over a year I have been tempted to go back into the Apple fold. I have ordered a new iPhone 6 and I can’t wait to get my hands on it. There are loads of new things in iOS eight which have brought me back such as the extensibility feature which allows me to work with the features of one application while still in another application. I can do things in the Paper Camera app from within the photos application which is pretty handy. I like that we can have widgets that we can drag down from the top in the notifications area although I don’t think it’s quite makes up for what I have been using with the Google Now.

I’m looking forward to using my favourite applications that are only available on iOS. These applications would be Drafts, OmniFocus, Clear and Day One. There are a number of other applications that I’m pleased to be using gain over on the iOS platform and the applications in general are better on the Apple side of the fence. This is one of the reasons why it sometimes seems that I was getting a second rate experience by using android.

The biggest problem with using Android was the fact that with my Galaxy S3 I didn’t get any updates from the carrier to be to upgrade it to KitKat. I had to do some upgrading by using rooting and CyanogenMod and to be honest it was a lot of messing around that I didn’t really enjoy doing.

I have already been trying out some of the new features in iOS 8 using my iPad and loving them. I can’t wait to get my hands on the new iPhone 6 to be able to take advantage of the connections between iOS devices and there will also be the connection between the Mac when Yosemite becomes available. The added security that I will get by having Touch ID is going to be pretty handy especially seeing as they have been extensions being made across from my passwords application 1Password. So they go this is David Allen Wizardgold having a bit of a chat about switching back over to iOS from Android.

A couple of times it has been said to me that pen and paper is better than using modern technology such as an iPhone 6. Daft notions that your writing is safer because you put it on paper. These people forgot or didn’t know that all you work on can be backed up as soon as you create it. Not only that you have more ways of recording your thoughts, with audio and video available too. Drop your paper notebook in a puddle and see if you can save anything from the soggy pages. You can still lose paper or have it stolen. A phone is more desirable by thieves but you hang on to it more tightly.http://click-to-read-mo.re/p/9FpB/5306cc73

I have been using Scrivener a lot recently for writing books. It is really handy when you want to bring in an OPML file from an outliner app or from a mind mapping app. I made a tutorial showing how to do this. Going from the mind map to Scrivener worked better than from the mindmap to Cloud Outliner. Scrivener brought the notes attached to nodes which got lost going into the outliner. Seems that using Scrivener for the outlining too is the way to go if you have more than just the nodes to bring in.http://click-to-read-mo.re/p/9Fm1/5306cc73

Vlog - iPhone 6 coming, Writing a Good and Geeky Book
—-
Walking the dog and chatting about stuff. There is an old car and motorbike event on this morning and I am pondering whether to go. Didn’t in the end as it started to rain. I have to wait nearly 2 weeks for my iPhone 6 and it will be murder waiting. My Good and Geeky Book is so close to being ready. I will be making some videos to go with it and yesterday I did a tutorial about taking the work from a mind map and sending it first to an Outliner app (Cloud Outliner) and then to Scrivener which is the best writers software out there. ## Subscribe to David Allen Vlogging Channel http://goo.gl/1hs4G ## Please subscribe to make sure you hear about all the How To videos on the Wizardgold Channel. I use a security application on my mac and it takes a picture every now and then of whoever is sitting in front of it and i grabbed this picture. I put it into the application topaz impression and i turned it into something looking like a painting. Podcasting for authors and writers

A short podcast discussing how to get started with podcasting with hardware and software. I demonstrate the difference between using an internal microphone and an external microphone. There is information as to how to have a good microphone technique so that you sound as good as it is possible. I talk about the microphones that I use for studio recording and also the one that I use when I am out and about.
