Sold another photo with Fotolia →
This photo at Fotolia is of part of an electricity sub station near to where I live and I took it about a year ago and it is the second time the photo has sold. Last time it sold from Dreamstime I think.
It was an easy shot and I took it with my old camera the Olympus E500 and the telephoto lens.

Dreamstime has been a difficult one for to get images on but today I got another images on the site and is ready for sale. It is a vector image that can be sized up to any size and is available as a eps file. You just need a vector editing program to make use of it.
Mostly over the last year I have been working with photographs but Lately I have extended my work to illustrations.

This is one of the images just accepted on to the BigStockPhoto portfolio and is now available for sale. It is one of a few from a photo shoot I did with my middle son as a model. He is very expressive as you can see in the picture.
Some of the shots I turned into illustrations, like the one where he is holding an electric drill. As a photo it was good but the drill was old and very scruffy...

Selling images online. Getting your images onto the Microstyock sites to get them sold. Photos and illustrations can be sold through the Microstock sites like Fotolia, Dreamstime and LuckyOliver.

Although I sometimes have trouble getting some photos and illustrations past the judges on Fotolia, it still is the best of all the sites I have been with so far in terms of sales and making me money. This picture is the best selling shot I have on Fotolia. I took it last year at a beautiful location near to where I live.

It is a weird thing the way it works because strange things happen. For example a photo will get accepted on a site that normally you have difficulty getting stuff accepted and then on another site where similar images from you have already been accepted, they refuse it.
It is something you have to live with that the final say is in the hands of a person that might have had a bad day and is...

Sold this photo of lemons that I took in the market in Platja d’Aro not long ago. Do you think you could take photos like this, sure you do….. Why not get the camera out and start to build yourself a residual income with you camera.
It is residual because the photo can sell many times over. Once you have uploaded it to some of the Microstock sites it will be just sitting there waiting to make...

For some time I have known that my portfolio of photos has not been the best in terms of selling. Too many landscapes, not enough people pictures.
